Frankie's Fingermen, Gun Molls and a Swell Doll

Finally for now on the Mad Dogs with Guns project (although I know I want some cops and civilians at some point!), here's the Frankie's Fingermen pack from the Copplestone Castings Gangasters range.

This pack includes a couple more pistol-armed gangsters - one in full dapper suit, the other with his jacket off:

Completing the pack are a couple of tommygunners - bringing a little bit of heavy firepower to the collection!

The one in trenchcoat looks like he'll make a rather mean Torpedo in the game!

I knew that I needed some Molls for both of the gangs - I opted for the Gun Molls pack, which includes miniatures armed with a range of weapons:

The pack also included, for some reason, a miniature in her underwear.  This was totally at odds with the rest of the range and doesn't fit in at all so won't be getting prepped.

However, to replace the lost Moll, one of my regular pack splitters had one of the miniatures from the Swell Dolls pack so I picked her up:

As with the packs I've shared previously, these miniatures all feature nice period clothing details and they all work well together across the range.  Onwards to base texturing and priming!

Hired Hitmen and the O'Hare Boys

The next two packs from Copplestone Castings' Gangsters range are now prepped - this time round it's the Hired Hitmen and the O'Hare Boys packs.

First up, the Hired Hitmen - this pack of four includes three pistol packing killers:

And a rather dapper tommygunner who is checking his pocket watch - clearly wants to be punctual for his next appointment!

The O'Hare Boys pack includes a couple more pistol men - one in slightly fancier clothes than the other:

As well as a trenchcoat wearing tommygunner and a rather rowdy chap with a pair of pistols:

Just like the packs I featured previously these are full of nice period details - and also had the same slottatab issue (too tall for the bases - just required a bit of clipping). Really nice miniatures here - just gotta decide who will join which of my mobs!

Street Toughs and the Candy Kid's Street Punks

I've finally got round to picking up some packs from Copplestone Castings' range of gangsters (looked after by North Star) to use for some games of Mad Dogs with Guns.  The first couple of packs I've assembled are the Street Toughs and the Candy Kid's Street Punks packs.  Each pack has four single-piece minis and comes with round lipped slottabases.

First up, here are the Street Toughs.  This pack is themed around guys that like to get up close and personal!  A couple of practitioners of the pugilistic arts form the core of the pack:

The other half features a guy carrying his trusty baseball bat ("what officer, I'm a big fan of the Sox!") and a cigarette smoking tough whose cosh can be seen poking out of his pocket:

The Candy Kid's Street Punks pack is a bit more varied - although half is armed for close combat - one with brass knuckles and a knife, the other getting in a bit of batting practice:

The rest of the pack introduces some ranged weaponry into my collection - a fedora-wearing pistol man and a wild-haired shotgunner (shotguns aren't common in this range so I was keen to get this one in particular):

I haven't decided yet how I'll divvy these up amongst the couple of gangs I'm planning - one will be Irish (surprise, surprise) and the other I'll do as a rival Jewish outfit.  All the sculpts feature nice period clothing details and characterful faces - the casts were clean with minimal clean-up required.

The one point to note - the slottatabs on the minis (all of them that I got from this range) were too tall for the supplied bases, requiring me to cut them down a little to get them to fit.  Not a problem - but it did add some time and faff to what would otherwise have been a quick little prep job.

Dracula's America - Spirit Creatures

In the Hunting Grounds expansion the options for creatures and entities that you can encounter in games has grown - and North Star offers a pack of Spirit Creatures to help bring these to the table!

First up, the Bukwus, a spirit of a drowned person:

Next up, a Ghost-Witch, a herald of misfortune:

Finally, an Angry Spirit - depicting a rightfully angry Indigenous American:

Three cracking minis that will add a lot of variety to games!

Dracula's America - Townsfolk Living and Dead

It's helpful to have some Civilian minis for Dracula's America - I had a look around and came across the Tombstone range from Black Scorpion.  These fitted the bill perfectly, so I picked up a couple of packs:

This one features (L-R) a Doctor looking chap, a nicely dressed woman, a barkeep and a blacksmith.

The one features (L-R) a grave carver, a younger woman, a chunky pipe-smoker and an older woman with shopping bag.

The minis are resin and came on slotta tabs which I removed so I could use the same size bases as the rest of my Dracula's America collection.

Dracula's America being Dracula's America though, you can also have zombie outbreaks amongst the townsfolk - here I hit up North Star who have a couple of different packs in their range:

I did get a duplicate pack of the one without the little girl zombie so I had enough of the restless dead to use in scenarios that call for them.

Dracula's America - Supernatural Unwelcome Guests

A cool part of Dracula's America are the Unwelcome Guests - random encounters that can crop up during games.  I've got the first set prepped ready for priming.

Here's the Jackalope - I know, a horned rabbit *shrug*

Next up a Chupacabra, that's a bit more like it!

Here's the Manitou:

Next up the Sasquatch:

Finally, the stand out sculpt in the set, the Pale Rider:

I have the Spirit Creatures set on its way now so keep an eye out for them here soon!

Skinwalker Tribe

I recently received the Skinwalker Tribe starter from North Star to add another Posse to the collection!

First up, the Arcanist:

Next, a couple of Gunfighters armed with pistols and knives:

Adding a little ranged power to the posse - a couple of Gunfighters with rifles:

The last three Gunfighters have pistols and tomahawks:

Of course, it's not really a Skinwalker Tribe posse if you don't have Skinwalkers!  I picked up a couple of Onmioji sculpts of bears to use as the animal forms of my Skinwalkers:

I really like the nice chunky look to these two, really marks them out as not normal bears!

Dracula's America - Hired Guns II

I was gifted some Dracula's America bits and bobs by my wife and I'm working on prepping them - first up was the Hired Guns II pack from North Star.

As always, these are lovely sculpts full of character and very well cast.

First, the rather sinister Gravedigger:

Some proper Childcatcher vibes with that one!

Next, the Eldritch Investigator, complete with lantern and mysterious tome:

He just required his lantern arm attaching - he's the only mini in the pack that required assembly.

Finally, the Bounty Hunter:

I particularly like his pet sat on his shoulder!

Dracula's America - Random Bits

There were a couple of minis that I didn't have an immediate use for when I picked up our first lot of Dracula's America stuff. But I thought I'd still find a use for them - the easiest was the Broodkin mini from the Red Hand Coven box:

I'll use this as an Unwelcome Guest (as either type of vampire that might get rolled).

Then there were the two Crusaders from the Twilight Order box.  These don't have a natural home, but I thought they might work for special scenarios or something so based them up anyway!

If nothing else they look rather fun to paint!

Dracula's America - (Supernatural) Hired Guns

Here's a couple more Hired Guns for Dracula's America - this time they are of the Supernatural variety!

First up is the Carpathian Guard for the Red Hand Coven from North Star:

Next is an Artizan mini - a Pinkerton Detective (Hunting Grounds):

I figured I may as well use the Crossroads Magister mini for something - he can be a Medium (Hunting Grounds) or even an Emissary of Dagon (Forbidden Power):

Finally for now on the Supernatural front, I intend to use this Artizan Al Swearengen as a Maverick Arcanist - he seems just the type who'd have some arcane playng cards up his sleeve!

Yes, I am addicted to mercenaries/hirelings!

Dracula's America - (Mundane) Hired Guns

From the various box sets and blisters I've picked up to get started with Dracula's America there were a few left over minis that I figured would make sense as Hired Guns for the game.  First up, here are the mundane ones (ie. the not supernatural ones!) - these can even be used if you use the ruleset as a straight-up Wild West game.

First up, is a sculpt packed with character from Artizan that I intend to use as a Prospector:

From North Star there is this fiery Padre - he'll make a good Preacher:

Finally on the mundane front, I had two Ragged Diehards.  I wasn't planning on a Dark Confederacy posse, but thought they might work for Scouts or Frontiersmen (Hunting Grounds):

As you may have guessed from my Mordheim and Necromunda posts I'm a sucker for hirelings so there will no doubt be more for Dracula's America!
