UNORP - The Sapphire Brigade

While regiments of axebearers provide a stalwart defence, it is the regiments of swordbearers that the commanders of the Union use to strike the hammer-blow to the enemies of the peoples.

Wielding double-handed Ogre-crafted swords as tall as an Orc, the swordbearers are viewed as gallant warriors by the citizens (and as fancy-dans by their colleagues in the axebearer regiments...), with more songs and plays written about their exploits than probably any other single regiment-type in the armies of the Union.

One such regiment of swordbearers is the Sapphire Brigade.  Clad in blue robes, these dashing Orcs are amongst the finest warriors in the Union, wielding their blades with ease that belies their size and weight.  Led by the eccentric Zorfu of Ucroz, who maintains the fashion of the ancient Grorcs civilisation by wearing a helmet adorned with a Warg-hair crest, the Brigade has a fairly friendly rivalry with the Shield of Rolbu regiment of axebearers who they have fought alongside for years.
