Once a skilled miner, Hargen took the Slayer Oath when he miscalculated a blast charge which caused the death of four of his fellow miners. In grief and disgrace he left his home and journeyed into the lands of men.
Like many of his fellow Slayers, Hargen was eventually drawn to Mordheim seeking an honourable death. Unlike most of his fellow Slayers, Hargen still retains and uses some of the skills he learnt in his previous life, making him a sought-after hireling.
Hargen is one of the original Slayers - back before GW made Dwarfs only carry Axes or Hammers!
