Midweek Malifaux Haul

Another hobby fund period, another set of decisions... for all sorts of historical stuff my head is turned to 10mm and Pendraken is currently moving into new premises and I didn't want to wait too long to get some shiny new toys... so back through the Breach I went and continued from last month with more Malifaux!

Again I talked it through with my better half and she was of the opinion that the same approach was the best to take - ie. more variety of crews!

So I looked around and split my orders up a bit to maximise what I could get - and they are now here!

First up I decided that I could continue the crew variety theme as well as bolster an existing master... so I got the Nekima Core Box:

This greatly boosts the true Nephilim in the collection - not just Nekima herself, but a pair each of young and mature Nephilim.

Continuing the pattern of a core box and a supporting pack I ordered the Blood Ritual box:

This includes Hayreddin and a pair of Black Blood Shaman.  There's not really much else to get now for this keyword (already have Terror Tots, Lelu and Lilitu from 2nd edition).

I then turned my mind towards other crews to provide additional variety. It might come as no surprise to those of you who know our love of Japan, but I decided to add Asami Tanaka as a master so picked up her core box:

This Oni summoning master provides a different gameplay experience - but as she's a summoner I knew I needed quite a bit more for her to actually summon!

First the Ancient Evil box:

This includes a trio of Obsidian Oni and Ama no Zako (the red skinned lantern swinger on the box).  I knew I wanted Ama no Zako, but the price of this box was only a couple of quid more than the single Ama no Zako from 2nd edition I could find so a bit of a no brainer really!

I also found the Jorogumo box going for a crazy price:

These spider-oni seem a must according to the various tactics articles I've read so getting them for a great price was a bonus!

Keeping in the Japanese feel I turned to the Ressurectionists - this time to Kirai Ankoku:

Kirai is, again, a summoning master so I knew I needed another couple of boxes of her keyword - I started with Vengeful Ghosts:

Both the Goryo (sword swinging spirit) and the Seishin (the dragon-like spirits) are staples for Kirai crews so I'm pleased to have this in the collection (although the Goryo are renowned for being particularly difficult to build...)

Finally for Kirai I added the Ravenous box:

This contains a mixture of Shikome (the harpy-like creature) and Gaki (the robed maws) to provide near maximum variety to Kirai.

I needed a few specific paint reloads so was placing an order and came across a second edition pack of Prospectors at a deep discount... I don't need Johan who comes in their M3E box (as I already have Johanna) so this was the perfect (and cheap) way to get a little Soulstone support for the Viktorias:

Although only one is really likely to see use with the Viks I'll still make all three up!

If you've been following the various Malifaux posts over the last few weeks I hope it's highlighted the wide range of styles and influences on the game setting!
