Super-Proxy!

I received an offer on a mini that had been on my watch list for quite some time - the Vortex Black Ops for my Nomads.

I'll be giving him the helmet option - that way he can be a Zero in our Bakunin or a Spektr in our Tunguska quite easily (and quite possibly something or other in Corregidor too!)... of course if we play an intra-Nomad conflict only one of them can take him in any game though! 😅

Clandestine Action Team Operative joins my NCA

I'd originally planned to use a Yadu mini as a proxy-Locust for my NCA, however since then I decided to start an OSS collection (and heavy on the Yadu to boot) so dropped the proxy idea. Fast forward and I spotted the Locust with Marksman Rifle as part of the Beyond Kalstrom pack and recently found a box-splitter offering it at a fair price so took the opportunity to pick one up:

Unlike most of the Kaldstrom stuff this chap isn't too winter-ready so I think it'll work well for my NCA and won't look out of place in Neo-Shinjuku!

"when the smoke clears, he’ll have fulfilled his duty"

Another one of those too-good-to-pass-by deals has arrived - this time it's Domaru Takeshi "Neko" Oyama to supplement the JSA collection:

I'd wanted this mini for a while and finally took the plunge - he's one of those sculpts that I'd admired long before purchasing my first Infinity stuff so I'm glad to have finally got round to picking him up. He'll be a lieutenant option most likely in our collection.

Dire Foes 9 - Datacash

I got a good offer on the Dire Foes 9 set - Datacash, well it would have been rude not to grab it!

Richard Quinn can find use in either my NCA or my VIRD, Jelena Kovač goes straight into my Tunguska collection - and yes, the Databanker now makes it six briefcase toting Infinity minis I have! 😅

I really like the Jelena mini - I'll even forgive the tactical lump she's standing on!

Beba gets her Stallion Jack

You might remember I received the Outrage character pack but didn't have a concrete plan for the Beba Rodriguez mini - well, seeing an Anaconda done up as Stallion Jack I figured why not go that route for my StarCo (or anyone else who can take an Anaconda I suppose!).  So, I picked up the Anaconda TAG box (with an extra reduction from the seller as a bonus!):

But then this gives me another happy problem - what do I do with the Operator mini?! Well, seeing as it's a woman - I'm sure it'll end up in my Qapu Khalqi somehow (current thinking: proxy Ghulam HMG?)

Druze Bayram Security hire another Bounty Hunter

You may have seen the previous 'Bounty Hunter' that my Druze Bayram Security have hired - well his partner should I intend to run a Duo (or just if I don't want a shotty armed dude) has arrived!

It's the Ariadnan Intel Spec-Ops - and, if we are honest, is probably the most bad-ass miniature ever (of any gender or none).  I intend to just give the pistol and knife option (as per the blister card) so she can be a suitable proxy for any ABH option.

Druze Bayram Security hire a Bounty Hunter

Long-term readers of the blog might recall me having a couple of Bounty Hunters for my OSS well I decided I could do with a couple of suitable minis to use as Bounty Hunters in my Druze Bayram Security.  I didn't really have it as a priority, but kept an eye out for anything that might fit the bill - well a box splitter had available the O-12 Gangbuster mini - I liked the look of him when he first came out and thought he'd be a cool proxy so snatched him up:

I think he'll look pretty cool - and I've got a plan for another mini to use as a proxy in my DBS to form a Duo Fireteam so watch this space!

Another Wild Hafza* Appears!

*again, kinda.

As you may know, my Qapu Khalqi force for Infinity is all-female - which gives a problem in the Hafza department.  Well, I spotted a second-hand, painted Muyib with Spitfire - well, although I've got a couple of other proxy Hafza, I didn't have one with a Spitfire...

It's a mini I've always liked but hadn't spotted on its own until now, so I'm glad to add her to the collection!

Surly Suryat with a big gun

I picked up a Suryat with HMG blister pack for a song - I just couldn't resist the opportunity to add another HMG to the collection! (Neo-Shinjuku is going to be riddled with bullet holes at this rate)

Whilst I don't really intend to pick up the Suryat box to give this chap some friends (although who knows?), this beefy space monkey was too cool to pass on, especially at a great price!

Bringing Swords to a Gun Fight

I've picked up a couple more miniatures to add to the JSA collection - first up I got the old OOP Kempeitai from the old school starter - this one has a combi rifle to give a different option to the boarding shotgun-armed Kempeitai from the JSA Army Pack:

Long-time readers may recall I picked up a cheap Miyamoto Mushashi (the OOP one) - well the seller that I picked up the Kempeitai from had the hat-wearing version from the current box... I contemplated for a half-second (I already had a Mushashi after all), but having one with a hat to match the Tankō for a great price was too good an opportunity to pass by!

I think my existing Mushashi will join another future/cyberpunk project I have on the go, so he won't go to waste!

Angry Space Monkey Sergeant Major

I spotted the Raktorak from the Morat Aggression Force starter box going for a great price and decided to pick it up (as I don't want/need the Vanguard Infantry that make up the majority of the box):

This one is armed with Combi Rifle and Heavy Flamethrower and otherwise isn't available on its own so I'm glad to have had the opportunity to add him to the collection!

Monday 10 August 2020

Intruder Alert!

I found the contents of the old Corregidor Intruders box going cheap (as they were assembled/primed):

The unprimed one is armed with a combi rifle, the other has a MULTI sniper rifle. As I already have the female Intruder sniper I'll probably cut this one down to use as another combi armed Intruder - maybe as he has a little antenna he can be a hacker if required too!

Wednesday 5 August 2020

Tsyklon Sputniks only one (mostly) careful owner!

I picked up a couple of slightly dinged up Tsyklon Sputnik remotes to use across the three Nomad forces I have. There's one with a Feuerbach and one with a Spitfire:

The keen-eyed amongst you will spot that the Spitfire one (on the right) is missing it's fin.  I actually prefer it without, so it's Feuerbach buddy there might be getting a fin-ectomy sometime!

Death from above!*

*or table edge...

I had a few spare pennies from my hobby fund and came across a super-cheap Garuda Tacbot in blister:

This is the OOP version with combi-rifle - but because it is an arm mounted gun with only the barrel visible I think it'll make a fine proxy for whichever profile I intend to use.  It can be used in both OSS and NCA so gives me an additional option for two forces - can't be bad for a couple of quid!

Saturday 11 July 2020

OSS takes on a Consultant

I finally managed to pick up a Shukra Consultant on the cheap - it's from the Coldfront set of course and is armed with a Boarding Shotgun:

It's relatively easy on the points in game too, so I expect he'll find his way into plenty of my lists once I get playing (eventually!).

O-Yoroi Kidobutai - Pride of the JSA

To finish off my JSA (for now) I knew I wanted an O-Yoroi TAG - long time readers may remember I picked up the pilot mini ages ago on a deal; well she finally gets her mecha to take to the field!

It'll make a cool centrepiece for my JSA collection - plus it comes with Crazy Koalas, which are just such fun minis!

Although this does make me want a TAG for each of my Infinity forces (that can have them) now...

Neo-Shinjuku HVTs

I've got a few HVT/civilians for missions in Infinity from various split Dire Foes packs and other sources, but I wanted to round it out with a few of the official HVT minis.

I knew I wanted the parasol-toting Dragon Lady - while she's Yu Jing the clothing is suitably generic to work for a wealthy CEO or somesuch:

Given the heavy Aleph contingent in the collection the High Functionary was a must too:

Finally I spotted the Midnight Sun Analyst mini out of blister but otherwise brand new for a great price so added him to the HVT line-upas well:

I think that's likely it for HVT/civilians - although there are a couple of Dire Foes range civvies that I might pick up if I spot them for the right price! (Candy Double I'm looking at you!)

Monday 22 June 2020

Fukuro Security's Neo-Shinjuku Office

Since picking up the JSA army box a while ago I knew I wanted a Shikami - despite mixed reviews for their performance on the tabletop I apply the Rule of Cool so it was a must-get for me!  Well, I finally got round to picking one up - I opted for the Contender armed version:

I'm planning to use the hat-wearing head and the arm holding the saya - I just think it looks cooler that way!

Monday 15 June 2020

OSS reinforcement deployed by Aleph

I picked up a second-hand (well, out of blister) Asura Hacker for an absolute steal - the mini is really nice so I'm glad to have it in the collection.  Offers yet another heavy point sink though!

This Asura does work as a pretty universal proxy Asura though (my other one has a Spitfire) so it's a useful option to have in the OSS collection.

Monday 8 June 2020

Yojimbo roars into Neo-Shinjuku

As part of filling the remaining holes in the Infinity collection, I knew there was some gaps in the JSA force.  Well, first to arrive (no surprise seeing as he's on a rather bad ass motorbike) is Yojimbo:

He's a source of smoke, cheap in points and comes with Crazy Koalas to boot! OK, so given my lack of tactical awareness an Extremely Impetuous troop will probably just become a bloody splat in short order, but it's an excuse to get better right?
